4 Plus Group Days
The 4 Plus is rarely a 1-2-1 assessment. At schools such as Dulwich, Alleyn’s, Highgate, Habs and NLCS, your child will be observed in a group — sharing resources, taking turns, following whole-class instructions, contributing to circle time, and working alongside children they have never met before. Strong academics alone are not enough. Our 4 Plus Group Days replicate these conditions exactly, giving your child the chance to rehearse the real assessment before the real assessment.
Group Days are held at our Dulwich and Hampstead centres and are led by specialist 4 Plus teachers who know precisely what each school is looking for. Children move through a carefully designed sequence of phonics, early numeracy, spatial reasoning, listening tasks, storytelling and structured play — all delivered in the small-group format used in the real exam. Our teachers then give you detailed written feedback so you know exactly where your child is strong and where more work is needed before test day. Group Days are one of the reasons our success rates are 70-80% for even the most academically selective schools.
Why a Group Day Matters
Many bright children who perform beautifully at home freeze in a group setting. They may know every phonics sound and count confidently to twenty, but still struggle to put their hand up, share a pencil, or answer a question when five other children are doing the same. Schools assess for these behaviours as rigorously as they assess for academic ability, and this is often where the 4 Plus is won or lost. A Group Day lets your child experience the pace, noise and social dynamic of the assessment in a supportive environment — so that on the real day, nothing is new.
Available Dates and Booking
Group Days run from 9:30am to 11:00pa and include a short parent debrief at the end of the session. You need to be enrolled in our standard 4 Plus programme to book. Group sizes are capped to mirror real assessment conditions, so early booking is advised.
